OK watched the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony last night...

If we had Collision Olympics at NACE,  What would some of the events be?

Be Creative... you never know what we might just try to pull off at NACE :-)

As a tribute to my unexperienced youth--

Chain snapping for distance :-)
Welding, Metal working, estimating, refinishing. You know SKILLS USA!
Are you at skills?
I'm closing up shop getting ready for finals.
Good luck.
Yes just like Skills USA we perform welding (flat, vertical, plug), metal working with and w/o filler, frame straighting machine readings, trame gauge, plastic repair, estimating, SAE Testing, and color matching.
Ok guys... We need to have some fun.

Remember the OSHA and union control over the convention centers at NACE. Performing task similar to Skills would require several permits and money, that I don't have :-( What would the insurance be?

What can we do that would be fun? Something that anyone could walk up and participate in. We want to draw attention to the back of the NACE floor where NABC will be giving out Recycled Rides.

I will however forward the idea of an adult mini skills USA even to ASA..... I'd hang out for that.
Ok, you did not state about liability and monies. So I will work on something that could be done at low cost and something fun for adults to do.

At Skills Nationals last summer one of the vendors from Leows had a computer spray activity for prizes. If you could get your hands on one of those for awhile, that could be fun without liability. Just a idea!
I like that? I also heard there are events you can "rent" from NASCAR that is like a mock Pit Crew where you change tires. Thinking about putting together teams to compete for a grand prize for best time.
Maybe an old county fair dunking tank....and we could have Kristen get in it.........or not.
Never mind.
If that was offered, I'd play, maybe several times!
LOL!
Good idea, why not? We have an event like that for PDR techs called the International Dent Olympics. It has been held for 9 years now.

If it could raise money for a charity... I'd offer to be dunked for a day....
I don't have the info to post today however, I have seen both virtual
painting as well as virtual welding, I would imagine the equipment is costly,
however if these products can get good exposure at NACE perhaps a small donation or paying their NACE fee will get them there?
