Looks like Web-Est is the Company on the way up. (Mitchell provides the information) Every program has it's weaknesses, along with the positive points. MOTOR Crash has been around forever it seems, but doesn't provide a way for the Shop to write estimates. Crash is a great program for those who write estimates by hand, or want to check to see if they are leaving money on the table. I even have salvage yards using it for price comparison or pricing information, Since Crash has dealer list price and body/mechancal labor.
What it boils down to is price! Shops have to keep the overhead down, so whoever has the best price wins.

I’ve worked under Mitchell’s umbrella for the past 20 years through one of their dealers. That association ended in April of this year. With that said, I have always believed that data providers look out for their number one customer and that is the insurance industry. Maybe not so much with the actual labor units, but with system functionality. I don’t think the industry should be looking for labor time parity between the three major providers. We need all three, and when one of them seems to become too strong, you should be getting nervous. As for actual labor studies, I think they are a thing of the past . . . someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
