Scott,
We have developed a nitrogen-based spraying system that will assist in dry time on waterborne paints. so much so that modifications or "add-ons" to the booth for air turbulence are not necessary. The finish is impeccable and the material savings will be interesting for you to see. Take a look at www.nitroheat.com and let me know what you think

This week, I got a chance to spray PPG's new Envirobase ECW8186 waterborne clearcoat at PPG's training center in Kansas City, Mo.  I must say it will not be a product that production shops will want to dive right into as the speed of application and dry time are not fast enought yet.... but still a very cool product. I look forward to shooting it again and cant wait until PPG gets it dialed in for production use.

I work in the insurance side of the industry now so I am not as involved as I once was in the refinish side of the business, so I am looking for information regarding the new waterborne paint systems.

Namely, I am concerned about the adhesion property's of the new waterborne's to solvent based Clear coats. With these two products being chemically different materials, how is proper adhesion property's maintained? If someone can start a discussion about this, I would welcome the opportunity to learn something about the new waterborne technology.

When ever quality counts...and it always does in our shop. PPG is always the 1st choice.

I'd love to hear conversion stories and see some shop pics.

Great to see PPG has made it to Collision Hub!
Hopefully I can help those with questions and share information from my experiences.
I have been selling PPG Finishes for over 18 years, we also use PPG at the Community College where I teach, and more recently, I have been very involved in converting shops to Envirobase waterborne base coat for the past 2 years.
The product is incredibly easy to use and outperforming all other brands..hands-down!
I am very excited about this new technology and look forward to many more conversions this year!
