What is your primary purpose for attending trade shows?  Which trade show, NACE or SEMA, helps you with your business?  What part of a trade show is most useful to you?

Ive always done both shows for different reasons.
I think we transistioned as an industry in our expectations of the shows. In the early years these were our only means of sampling equipment and making purchases for the coming year. Now we have better field distribution and the internet for product research and user testimonials.
I look for more hands on demo/tips and tricks now at the shows. The primary purpose is now networking and building a strong base of resources as a repairer and insurer.
The company that shifts from a marketing mindset to an education platform will have the greatest success in the coming years at all shows regional or national.
