Chief University Releases 2011 Training Schedule,
Including New Design Based Repair Course

Chief University, the trusted training arm of Chief Automotive Technologies, has released its extensive 2011 schedule of hands-on training courses for collision repair technicians, estimators and appraisers.

The schedule includes more than two dozen opportunities to take Chief’s new Design Based Repair course. This comprehensive class features 16 hours of instruction on the efficient, economical and proper repair of a vehicle to return it to original design specifications. The course concentrates on the use of new materials including high-strength steels, boron, aluminum and carbon fiber in modern vehicle design, as well as the proper use of OEM information and repair procedures to effect thorough, correct and safe repairs to the vehicle and its advanced safety systems.

Other Chief University classes cover computerized measuring, structural analysis and repair, steering and suspension, and collision theory.

Chief University classes are held in training centers throughout the United States and Canada. They combine classroom training with hands-on demonstrations and practice. All courses are led by professional Chief certified instructors, and most are approved for I-CAR points through the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance program. Chief training also has been certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for compliance with the Continuing Automotive Service Education (CASE) Standards.

Class offerings are updated frequently. A partial schedule of available classes is below. For the most up-to-date schedule, course descriptions, and to register, visit www.chiefautomotive.com

New Chief EZ LinerTM Express: Big Pulling Power in a Small, Affordable Package

Chief Automotive Technologies introduces the EZ LinerTM Express collision repair system, a compact, in-bay solution for the majority of collision repair jobs, affordably priced at less than $10,000.

“Traditional frame racks are large, expensive and absolutely necessary to correctly return vehicles with major collision damage back to pre-accident condition,” says Mike Cranfill, Chief vice president of collision. “But when a shop relies on a single rack to repair all frame damage, bottlenecks can occur, slowing cycle times and reducing profitability. Since not all collision repair jobs require a full-size rack, installing the smaller EZ Liner Express in a few bays frees up the big rack for major jobs, while at the same time improving bay productivity and profitability.”

With a constant five tons of power at the hook and lifting capacity up to 5,500 lbs, the EZ Liner Express is a versatile pulling system for reversing light hits, as well as an all-purpose service lift/workstation for improving bay ergonomics and productivity on other collision repair tasks, including dismantling, sanding and painting.

The EZ Liner Express comes complete with Chief clamps, anchors and tower. The pivoting tower attaches to the deck in 10 different locations to create a true 360-degree repair system. Its unique telescopic design means the tower can be retracted or extended in just seconds, as needed. The EZ Liner Express has a minimum footprint of just 14 feet by 17 feet, so it can fit comfortably in small, narrow bays and provide more workspace for the technician.

The EZ Liner Express is compatible with all Chief computerized measuring systems, including the VectorTM, VelocityTM and VelocityMAX, which feature Chief’s exclusive vehicle measurement data.

For more information about the EZ Liner Express collision repair system, contact your local Chief distributor, call 877-644-1044 or visit www.chiefautomotive.com.
