I have run into a new issue and I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this.

Double taxation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our city has just comleted thier standard 3 year audit for sales and use tax.

They determined that we owe the city more sales taxes.

When we complete an invoice, we have always taxed paint and materials as a Whole.

all The taxes are then sent into the city and state (as required)

The city's position is that we should be paying taxes when we purchase any consumable items.

Sand paper, tape, car plastic, etc...

Every estimate I have ever seen or written has stated we were taxing Panit AND Materials/ Supplies

So the city is collecting tax from my purchase, and then again when I invooice the consumables

as the Materials part of Paint and supplies/materials.

I would love to hear some feed back on this issue.
