
BodyShop News Publications Pty Ltd managing director,
Michel Albert Malik has been a motoring journalist since the 80s, writing articles about modified or restored cars. His full-time involvement in the body shop industry started in 1996 when he assumed the editorial chair at
Australasian Paint & Panel.
In July 2000,
Michel decided to raise the bar and create the finest automotive trade magazine in Australia –
Australian BodyShop News.Seven years on
Michel launched the English-language
BodyShop News Asia targeting the market of the ASEAN countries.
Michel is also a founding and current publisher partner of the International Bodyshop Industry Symposium (
IBIS).
In August 2008,
Michel staged the extremely successful first
IBIS Regional in Australia at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Michel has presented and spoken at various events, such as
NACE,
Automechanika,
AMR (Beijing),
IBIS and more.
Michel is also a member of the select International Jury for Innovation at the biennale
EquipAuto in Paris.
Michel also produces and presents a weekly motoring programme –
The World on Wheels – broadcast on radio station 2GLF 89.3 in Sydney and throughout the world on
www.893fm.com.au. The programme will celebrate 15 years on air in August 2011.
Michel enjoys motor racing from both sides of the fence as a spectator and as driver in various rallies and in circuit racing at club level.
Michel has restored and modified many cars throughout the years and has a few ‘toys’ that he tinkers with when he can find some time.
BodyShop News Publications Pty Ltd runs its own private body shop where many tests on new products are independently performed.
2010 saw
BodyShop News Publications Pty Ltd celebrate the 100th issue – March 2010 and ten years of publishing in September 2010.
