This Sunday October 10th a special fundraiser will be held at NACE in Las Vegas. The event will feature our very own, very talented Rod Enlow and Rick Tuuri starring as the musical duo of "Total Loss". We thought we would have a fun evening to raise awareness and some funds for the initiatives of the Collision Industry Foundation.

Shops Against Hunger is an industry wide project that started in April. The goal of the project is three fold, provide money for food banks, donations of food and volunteer at a local food bank during the month of November. Finishmaster led the effort with a 3 month donation drive. Shops were asked to donate $1 with each of their statements. Many generous shops donated the $1 and many donated even more. The project raised over $2000.

During the month of November shops and industry members will be asked to help in two very special ways. Food banks can be found in every community in America and in the last two years the need for food has touched Americans that have never been affected before. Some statistics:

31% of the members of households served by the Foodbank’s network of member agencies are children under 18 years old.
41% of the households include at least one employed adult.
49% of the clients served by the Foodbank’s network reported having to choose between paying for food and paying for utilities or heating fuel.
42% of the clients served by the Foodbank’s network reported having to choose between paying for food and paying their rent or mortgage.
36% of households served by the Foodbank report having at least one household member in poor health, and 35% of clients served report having to choose between paying for food and paying for medicine or medical care.

Shops Against Hunger encourages collision industry shops and other affiliates to volunteer at a local food bank. Volunteer hours should be logged and emailed along with any questions to: collisionindustryfoundation@gmail.com 3 hours of volunteer time at a local food bank can make a difference in your life and in your community.

Body Shops can purchase pads of Shops Against Hunger slips for to encourage customer donations during the month of November. The pads cost $50 and shops may charge $1 per slip. Shops can then display the completed slips in their customer waiting area.

Rod and Rick were awesome. They came dressed up as the Blues Brothers and the music added so much to the event. Many thanks to all of the wonderful people who participated in this smashing success!
